The German Design Award–winning Endrich E-IoT Smart Fridge family has been extended with Smart-IoT Fridge Lighting modules. These semi-retrofit solutions integrate wireless data logging and cloud connectivity directly into industrial refrigeration lighting systems. Developed with a South American partner, they use existing lighting power to run an embedded NB-IoT/LTE-M multi-sensor unit, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization without extra infrastructure. Cloud AI tools replace traditional dashboards with a chat-like interface for anomaly detection and custom insights.

The monitoring and optimization of industrial refrigerators in retail presents a major challenge, as conventional solutions are often maintenance-intensive and complex. Smart IoT in the fridge light offers an elegant integration of multisensor technology directly into the lighting of industrial refrigerators with its innovative solution, creating an autonomous, network-independent, and scalable platform. Without batteries or external gateways, the system enables precise detection of relevant environmental data and door states, which are transmitted in real time via mobile networks to the cloud. This intelligent networking lays the foundation for predictive maintenance and sustainable process improvements in retail.
