The SeasON storage solution closes a critical gap in the energy market. While batteries are limited to short-term storage and conventional heat storage suffers from high losses, our thermochemical technology enables loss-free, long-term energy storage in the form of heat. Based on a reversible reaction using caustic soda, electrical energy and industrial waste heat can be stored and efficiently reused as heat when needed. The solution is emission-free, economically scalable and enhances energy security, grid stability and the use of renewable resources.

Seasonal energy storage represents a central challenge for the energy transition, as conventional technologies either store energy only for short periods or suffer from high losses. SeasON offers an innovative solution with its thermal long-term energy storage system, which stores energy as heat loss-free and over several months. The reversible reaction with sodium hydroxide enables efficient conservation of excess electricity and industrial waste heat, releasing it again on demand as needed. This emission-free and economically scalable technology strengthens supply security, relieves the power grid, and promotes the use of renewable energies. With its novel storage medium, the solution convincingly combines safety, cost-efficiency, and environmental friendliness, thereby opening up new perspectives for sustainable heat supply.
