The German Design Award–winning Endrich E-IoT Smart Fridge family has been extended with Smart-IoT Fridge Lighting modules. These semi-retrofit solutions integrate wireless data logging and cloud connectivity directly into industrial refrigeration lighting systems. Developed with a South American partner, they use existing lighting power to run an embedded NB-IoT/LTE-M multi-sensor unit, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization without extra infrastructure. Cloud AI tools replace traditional dashboards with a chat-like interface for anomaly detection and custom insights.

The monitoring and optimization of commercial refrigeration units represent a central challenge in retail, as they are crucial for reducing food waste and energy consumption. Smart IoT in the fridge light offers an elegant and maintenance-free solution by integrating intelligent sensors directly into the lighting of industrial refrigerators. This innovative networking uses existing power sources and does without batteries or external gateways, simplifying installation and increasing scalability. By precisely capturing temperature, humidity, door status, and other parameters, the system enables comprehensive real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. This creates a sustainable platform that equally meets ecological, economic, and functional requirements, making retail future-proof.
