ECOHEMP
Up to now, the event and music industry has chiefly used copper conductors sheathed in PVC, a rather controversial material, for the transmission of sound and data. CORDIAL’s new ECOCORD cable line has completely dispensed with PVC as jacket material. The utilised alternative is TPE-V which is recyclable, more energy-efficient, cheaper to manufacture and lighter than PVC and also impresses with its mechanical properties. As the first product series of the ECOCORD line, we present the PVC-free bulk cable featuring a textile jacket made of 100% hemp, the »ECOHEMP« instrument cables. A highlight regarding sustainability and innovation.
Jury statementManufacturer CORDIAL is for the first time using TPE-V as the material for sheathing its new »ECOCORD« range of cables, thereby completely dispensing with PVC, which is considered to be harmful to the environment. In the first ECOHEMP product series, the textile sheath made of 100% hemp underlines the sustainable claim and makes the product unmistakable. The fact that the packaging is made of recycled grey cardboard and that a tree is planted for each cable sold in order to offset the copper and plug material used only adds credibility and appeal to the eco-concept behind it.
