The 3D-printed battery cells from Blackstone have 20 per cent higher energy density than standard lithium-ion batteries and can also be produced in a much more environmentally friendly, sustainable and efficient way. One other notable advantage is the unprecedented flexibility in terms of structural shape. This is not only interesting for the electric vehicle industry but also for manufacturers of battery-operated everyday products that are expected to be as small, manageable and compact as possible. An important milestone on the way to widespread electrification.
