iGurt
Description
Transport damages caused by poorly-secured freight are routine in the transport business. BPW is now tackling one of the main causes with an intelligent load securing system: the iGurt checks and documents the tension of the lashing strap and promises massive savings. During the journey, the pre-tensioning force is continuously monitored; if the values deviate, the iGurt sends a warning message to the corresponding app in the driver’s cab. This minimises the risk of accidents and damage caused by inadequately secured goods. The sturdy, shockproof iGurt housing is designed for long-term use on the trailer. The battery charge lasts for around one year, while the battery itself can be replaced quickly and easily.
Jury statement
Damage to freight on truck loading surfaces due to loose lashing straps is a frequent problem that results in high costs year after year. The new iGurt is equipped with a robust sensor that measures the tractive forces of the strap even as it is being tightened and then monitors them continuously. The sensor simultaneously sends the data to an app that is visible to the driver throughout the journey. If a strap becomes loose, the driver can promptly stop and tighten it again. A convincing innovation that not only reduces freight damage but also helps to avoid accidents caused by misaligned loading.
