LUKE 2 »pick by robot«
Description
LUKE 2 is the world’s first innovative, multi-patented, mobile picking robot with automatic gripper changer. In particular, the fact that it can both be installed flexibly in accordance with user needs and also retrofitted clearly distinguishes it from all other piece picking robots on the market. AI-supported image processing recognises the articles in the source container, LUKE 2 picks them with the appropriate gripper and optimally places them in one or more target containers. LUKE 2 can be used in addition to, alternating with or alternatively to humans and can serve different workstation types and heights. Only the robot docking station and one central connection needs to be installed, LUKE 2 has everything else on board. LUKE 2 enables consistently high piece picking performance 24/7/365.
Jury statement
Up to now, order-picking robots in the form of stationary systems were expensive to install and cost-intensive, which is why they fulfilled more of a secondary role – if at all – in individual item order picking. The innovative LUKE-2 robots have the potential to change this. Their compact design in the form of a mobile unit, which already has all technology on board, enables just one person to roll the robot to a free workplace and attach the connection cable. This makes it the perfect retrofitting solution, particularly since it does not need more space than a human order picker. To date, LUKE 2 is the only mobile order picking robot that can be deployed on an alternating or alternative basis to people – a ground- breaking new development that puts stationary systems in the shade due to its flexibility.
