German Innovation Award

The awards

that make innovation visible

The German Innovation Awards honour products and solutions that distinguish themselves primarily by their user centricity and added value compared to earlier solutions across all industrial sectors – because innovations that shape the future and improve our lives come from all industries. Sometimes you recognise them at first glance – but often this is not the case. The German Innovation Awards intend to change that. The competition makes outstanding achievements visible to a wide audience and ensures successful positioning in the market.

Unfortunately, the deadline for applications for the German Innovation Awards 2022 has passed. We will be happy to inform you as soon as a new registration period starts.

German Innovation Award: Awards Ceremony 2022

Insights Into Innovation

On the occasion of the German Innovation Awards 2021, we have developed a special online programme this year with »Insights into Innovation« to offer you exciting insights on the topic of innovation.

We spoke with various experts about Smart 5.0: Connectivity, Robotic & AI, Future of Mobility, Green Future, Future Living & Working, Lighting, Material Innovation and Medical & Health and organised two interesting talks. Larissa Niedecken (Design Lead, Co-Creating Program, Central Europe, FUJITSU), Dr. Torsten Wingenter (Managing Director, Digital Catalysts), Lutz Dietzold (CEO, German Design Council) and Ingolf Baur (physicist, scientific journalist, moderator) discussed innovation management. The topic of Artificial Intelligence was discussed by Dipl-Ing. Filiz Elmas (Head of Business Unit Development Artificial Intelligence, DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V.), Dr. Elias Knubben (Vice President and Head of Corporate Research and Innovation, FESTO SE & Co. KG), Lutz Dietzold and Ingolf Baur.

The videos for our online programme »Insights into Innovation« are all published here.

The organiser makes the difference.

Established by the German Bundestag and with a foundation endowed by members of German industry, the German Design Council works to promote the competitiveness of companies. Since 1953 the awards organised by the German Design Council honour achievements in design, branding and innovation on an international level. Design, brand and innovation: this perfect triad is essential to equip companies for the tough competition in the wake of Industry 4.0 and digitalisation, because each of these has an impact on the others.
